Unleash Potential

We are a Limited Liability Company specializing in balanced dog training, fostering joy, trust, and confidence in every interaction between dogs and their humans.
Our Journey, Your Success
Lowcountry Canine Academy was born out of a personal journey to understand and communicate effectively with our beloved dog, Tonka. Our founder’s experience with Tonka’s reactivity and anxiety led to a deep dive into canine behavior, culminating in advanced training and certification from the Will Atherton Canine Academy. Today, we bring this wealth of knowledge and experience to you, offering personalized, one-on-one training in real-life situations. Our unique approach respects the individuality of each dog, promoting clear and compassionate communication that strengthens the bond between dogs and their humans.

Tailored Training
At Lowcountry Canine Academy, we offer balanced dog training that is personalized to your dog’s unique needs. Our services span a range of topics, ensuring that we address the specific challenges you and your dog may be facing. We believe in fostering joy, trust, and confidence in every interaction, and our training methods reflect this philosophy.

Balanced Dog Training
Our balanced dog training approach respects the individuality of each dog. We understand that each dog is unique, with their own personality, strengths, and challenges. Our balanced training approach takes all these factors into account, providing a training program that is as unique as your dog.

Personalized Training
We offer personalized training on a range of topics, tailored to your dog’s unique needs. Whether your dog struggles with leash pulling, reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or jumping, we have the expertise to help. Our training programs are designed to address these issues in a compassionate and effective way.

Canine Communication
Understanding your dog’s language is key to a successful relationship. Our canine communication training helps you understand your dog’s signals and body language, enabling you to communicate effectively and build a stronger bond with your dog.

‘My Sweet Beaux’ Walks
Exercise is crucial for a dog’s physical and mental health. However, for reactive dogs, regular walks can be a challenge. Our ‘My Sweet Beaux’ walks are designed for such dogs. These one-on-one walks ensure that your dog gets the exercise they need in a safe and controlled environment, while also working on their reactivity issues.

Resource Guarding
Resource guarding can be a challenging behavior to manage. Our training programs help address this issue, teaching your dog to feel safe and secure, reducing their need to guard resources.

Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety can be distressing for both dogs and their owners. Our training programs provide strategies to help manage and reduce separation anxiety, helping your dog feel more comfortable when alone.

Leash Pulling
Leash pulling can make walks stressful and unenjoyable. Our training programs teach your dog leash manners, making walks a pleasant experience for both of you.

Jumping
While jumping can be a sign of a dog’s excitement and joy, it can also be problematic. Our training programs teach your dog polite greeting manners, ensuring they express their joy in a way that is respectful to humans.
Why Choose Us
At Lowcountry Canine Academy, we believe in the power of clear, compassionate communication. Our training approach is rooted in empathy, consistency, and mutual understanding, empowering you to build a lasting, enriching relationship with your canine companion. We offer at-home training to practice in real-life situations, one-on-one training for personalized attention, and special walks for reactive dogs. But what truly sets us apart is our commitment to understanding and respecting the individuality of each dog we work with.
At-Home Training
We understand that the most effective training happens in the environment where your dog spends most of their time. That’s why we offer at-home training, allowing us to work on behaviors in the context where they occur. This approach not only makes the training more effective but also more convenient for you.

One-on-One Training
Every dog is unique, and so should be their training. Our one-on-one training ensures personalized attention, tailored to your dog’s unique needs. We take the time to understand your dog’s personality, strengths, and challenges, and design a training program that is just right for them.
Special Walks for Reactive Dogs
Exercise is crucial for a dog’s well-being. But for reactive dogs, regular walks can be a challenge. Our ‘My Sweet Beaux’ walks are designed for such dogs. These one-on-one walks ensure that your dog gets the exercise they need in a safe and controlled environment, while also working on their reactivity issues.

Personalized Approach
We believe that there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to dog training. That’s why we take a personalized approach, tailoring our training to the needs of each individual dog. We take into account your dog’s personality, breed, age, and past experiences to create a training program that will be most effective for them.
Expertise and Experience
Our founder’s personal journey with her own dog, Tonka, has given us a deep understanding of canine behavior. Coupled with advanced training and certification from the Will Atherton Canine Academy, we bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our training programs. You can trust us to handle your dog’s training with expertise and care.

Clear Communication
We believe that clear, compassionate communication is key to a successful relationship with your dog. Our training methods are designed to foster this kind of communication, helping you understand your dog better and helping your dog understand you.
